Kinesiology, Ergonomics & Orthotics

Medical Definition of kinesiology from Merriam-Webster

:the study of the principles of mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement.
-Kinesiology-the study of the mechanics of body movements.
-Kinetics- of or relating to the motion of material bodies and the forces and energy associated therewith.

Medical Definition of ergonomics from Merriam-Webster

1:an applied science concerned with designing and arranging things people use so that the people and things interact most efficiently and safely  called also human engineering, human factors engineering.
2:the design characteristics of an object resulting especially from the application of the science of ergonomics.

Medical Definition of orthotics from Merriam Webster

:a branch of mechanical and medical science that deals with the support and bracing of weak or ineffective joints or muscles.

Wipos R & D team asked themselves how can we make our already good wiper better? By applying techniques and methods used in kinetics, ergonomics and orthotics. Implementing these allowed Wipos to design a new handle shape that mimics the arms positioning while wiping. This greatly reduces the arms range of motion that is required to wipe.
Wipos new ergonomically designed orthosis used lessons learned from kinesiology in shaping a new handle for our wiper that makes wiping even easier than our standard wiper. By bringing together techniques research and techniques from kinetics, ergonomics and orthotics Wipos was able to design a handle that reduces the distance you have move your arm in order to wipe. This is good news for people with limited mobility (and those with pain in their shoulder, arm and wrist) ( arthritis, joint pain or experience discomfort when positioning their arm to wipe.
